How would your organization benefit from Registered Student Organization (RSO) status?
List specific OSA or university resources that you would hope to utilize that would only be available to your organization if it becomes recognized.
By being a registered organization will have the ability to inform the student body of our club. We will also have the ability to vote at OSA meetings. We would like to utilize titan link in order to inform students of events and meeting dates. We also like to utilize the budget in order to go on GIS related conferences/ events.
How will the university community benefit from your student organization becoming recognized?
The University Community will benefit from having the GIS Club recognized because our mission is to inform the community about GIS and GIS related jobs that are one of the up in coming jobs in the United States. Along with this our Club is focused on providing opportunities for our club members to practice and prefect their GIS skills to help boost their resume.
In submitting this application, the organization exec board, advisor, and members certify that the student organization agrees to comply with University of Wisconsin System, UW-Oshkosh, OSA, State of Wisconsin, Federal laws and policies. The Organization/Club will comply with the bylaws or constitution of the group.
Organization Orientation & Training
I understand that ALL recognized Club/Orgs including Sport Clubs MUST have one member attend Registered Student Organization Training (RSOT) on October 3, 2016 at 4:00 - 6:00 PM in Reeve Ballroom, 227. OSA encourages two members of the organization to attend. There will be several break-out sessions and two members will be able to cover more sessions.
Failure to attend will impact the groups' recognition status. Attendance will be taken at the end of the training.
Student Organization standing with the university
Recognized Student Organizations must be in good standing with the university. The re-recognition paperwork must be approved by the Oshkosh Student Association (OSA). The organization representative completing this paperwork will receive an approval email after the paperwork is accepted by OSA.
