Parent Organization: University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh

The purpose of this club is to analyze and investigate various forms of oppression including, but not limited to, sexism, racism, homophobia, and religious oppression that are occurring both on campus and in the community. In addition to discussing these topics, we also host events on campus to raise awareness of important issues and volunteer in the community to fight for equality and justice in the Oshkosh area. While Social Justice minors are especially encouraged to join, membership is open to any interested campus or community members.

How would your organization benefit from Registered Student Organization (RSO) status?
List specific OSA or university resources that you would hope to utilize that would only be available to your organization if it becomes recognized.

SJC has a goal to bring awareness and education on social justice topics to its members and the campus community. To accomplish this, we are seeking collaboration across. Being a registered student organization helps us with this goal in several ways, specifically RSOT and other training opportunities and participation in OSA meetings.

How will the university community benefit from your student organization becoming recognized?

We hope to benefit the UWO community by fulfilling our vision: To support the growth and development of community involvement at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. To assist in developing events and programs for students. To support and assist other organizations on campus promoting social justice.

Organization Orientation & Training
I understand that ALL recognized Club/Orgs including Sport Clubs MUST have one member attend Registered Student Organization Training (RSOT) on October 3, 2016 at 4:00 - 6:00 PM in Reeve Ballroom, 227.  OSA encourages two members of the organization to attend.  There will be several break-out sessions and two members will be able to cover more sessions.

Failure to attend will impact the groups' recognition status.
Attendance will be taken at the end of the training.

I agree

Student Organization standing with the university
Recognized Student Organizations must be in good standing with the university.  The re-recognition paperwork must be approved by the Oshkosh Student Association (OSA). The organization representative completing this paperwork will receive an approval email after the paperwork is accepted by OSA.
